Uganda Announces Athletic Team Roster

Uganda has named their athletics team for the upcoming 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. It isn’t a large group but it is rich with talent! Among the men’s squad are Moses Kipsiro and Boniface Kiprop, two of Uganda’s leading long-distance runners. Kipsiro won a bronze medal in the 5000m race at the IAAF World Championships in Athletics held in Osaka and at the IAAF Golden League competition in Brussels last year. Kiprop earned a gold medal in the 10,000m race at the Commonwealth Games held in Melbourne in 2006 and finished in fourth place during the same event at the 2004 Athens Olympics.
