For the third consecutive months, more than 600,000 jobs were lost across the United States in the month of February. The jobless rate in the country now is at more than 8%, the highest that rate has been in the last 25 years.

With no end to the economic recession in sight, it now appears as it’s only a matter of time before the unemployment rate reaches 10%.
The industries hardest hit during the month of February included factories, construction, financial-related businesses and temp agencies. Each of those industries lost at least 40,000 jobs for the month in the United States.
It’s now estimated that almost 13 million Americans are searching for work. Since the beginning of the economic recession in the last 24 months, more than four million people in the United States have become unemployed. Experts say those numbers don’t tell the whole story because a number of Americans are now making less money or have been forced to part-time status.
For those looking for employment, there are a few industries that are actually adding more and more jobs. Those growing industries include the healthcare field, education-related jobs and jobs in the government.
