With the United States needing as many jobs as it can get, the United States Mint recently announced that they will be hiring as many as six associate designers. These designers will join the current Artistic Infusion Program designers.

Applications will start being accepted on September 1st. There will be multiple deadlines, with the furthest one being in July of 2010.

Said Ed Moy, the director of the United States Mint: “We are very excited about this unique program and its latest call to tap into the best artistic talent in the country. This is a tremendous opportunity for artists representing all types of backgrounds to inspire and educate the entire Nation.”

At USMint.gov/artists, artists will be able to apply. During the application process, each artest will be able to up to ten works, a statement of intent and a resume. If hired, artists can expect to make approximately $2,000 per task.
