Unlucky Indian Cricketers making their debut in Bangladesh

ojha_nc I came across this interesting piece of fact. They say that Bangladesh is such a happy hunting ground for cricketers. Obviously it is, but what if we consider players making their debut in Bangladesh? What if we consider just Indian cricketers? The result is surprising. I did some research and this is what I came up with:

SS Das : Debuted in Dhaka; Career Matches played : 23 Tests; Status : Career almost over

Saba Karim : Debuted in Dhaka; Career Matches Played : 1 Test; Status : Unhappily Retired and is now seen on TV as a wannabe presenter

Hemang Badani : ODI Debut in Dhaka; Matches Played : 40 ODIs; Status : ICL

Aavishkar Salvi : ODI Debut in Dhaka; Matches Played : 4 ODIs; Status : Aavishkar Salvi Who?

Amit Bhandari : ODI Debut in Dhaka; Matches Played : 2 ODIs; Status : Delhi Ranji Player, career almost done and dusted

Gautam Gambhir : Debut in Dhaka; 5 years on the circuit and has just played 47 ODIs

Strange indeed.

All I can say is : Best of Luck Pragyan Ojha, Yusuf Pathan and MS Goni…..hope the jinx doesn’t catch up on you.

hi..ankit kudos for your good work..( i find your work much better than some of the stuff posted by ur college mates….samajh gaya hoga…) , but i think u missed the bus on this one..

Gambhir’s career is goin gr8 guns…he just proved his mettle in the batsmen’s minefield…australia (atleast for indians over the past decades ) and Dhoni , our captain also debuted against Bangladesh with a duck!!!!

so can u call this bad luck…with Dhoni goin to become India’s most celebrated cricketer in the next two years..also the national captain who lead us to a memeorable victory in australia

I havedeliberately not mentioned Gambhir’s T20 exploits and Dhoni’s T20 world cup triumph…for all the purists who call T20 a “tamasha cricket”….but can anyone forget the jammed marine drive when dhoni and his boys paraded with their cup..!!!!!

    hey Jatin,
    thanks for all the appreciation.

I know those facts. I am a person who doesn’t believe in luck a lot. So, i selectively posted those players who have had a bad run. Was fun knowing these facts.
