Upgrading from Windows XP to Vista

I recently had to review a Qosmio G30 unit loaned to me for testing and decided to try to install Vista on it. Why? Well, i thought that having a Core 2 Duo processor, 1GB DDR2 RAM, Nvidia 7600 discrete graphics, 2x 100GB RAID,HD-DVD drive and a 17 inch screen would provide a pleasurable Vista experience. So i popped in the Vista DVD and ran the upgrade app on the existing Windows MCE 2005 installation and waited… and waited some more. It literally took almost 5 hours before the upgrade to Windows Vista was completed. Can you imagine? 5 excruciating hours for an OS upgrade?

So, whats your Vista Upgrade experience like?
