Upset of the Week: Florida State Takes Down Boston College

With yesterday’s loss Florida State, Boston College has dashed Matt Ryan’s hopes of the Heisman and, probably, Boston College’s bid for the national championship. I say probably because there’s always that chance that all of the other top teams will suck SO BAD that BC finally somehow ends up back on top. I mean, in this season, it is possible. But I wouldn’t count in it.
The game was lost largely due to Ryan (sorry man). A Heisman winner can lose a game (especially in a season like this), but he cannot play like Ryan. Two of the three interceptions he through were carried to the end zone. It’s not all on Ryan, though. The entire team looked shabby – definitely not like a #2 ranked BCS team.
I think Boston College has shown a lot of heart this season. And hey, I’m not suggesting that they don’t have any talent. I did see this coming, though. The BCS is really crazy this year, and Boston College didn’t deserve to be on top.
You know what, though? I do want to take a moment to fully congratulate Drew Weatherford and the rest of the Florida State team. I think that the media’s been in such a frenzy that BC has lost that we forget sometimes that Florida State WON. The Seminoles played a great game, so congrats, guys, on a big win.
