Starting on December 17th, US Airways will be adding a new flight to its lineup when they begin to offer a Hawaii from Charlotte service. Flights will leave daily from Charlotte at 9:45 AM and will land in Honolulu. The return flight from Honolulu will be daily at 5:45.
Currently, US Airways offers daily nonstop flights from Phoenix to Maui.
Said Andrew Nocella of US Airways: “Hawaii is one of US Airways’ most popular vacation destinations. We’re pleased to add another flight and give our customers on the East Coast easy access to Honolulu and the Island of Oahu.”
The city of Charlotte is also excited about this move. The move by US Airways could lead to more tourism due to the added number of vacationers heading into town.
“This announcement of nonstop service from Charlotte to Honolulu is great news for the Charlotte passenger,” said Pat McCrory, Charlotte’s mayor, “and reaffirms the strength of Charlotte Douglas International Airport as a US Airways hub.”
Tickets are already on sale and are available by phone and at usairways.com. Right now, round-trip tickets cost about $950.
