US Intelligence Gets Google Help

One of the newest clients that Google would be working with is the United States government and the company would be doing such by creating servers to government intelligence agencies. These servers would be used to store data and agency documents and it would be used also to better facilitate the search for needed documents. In a report, it was mentioned that these servers would act as “mini-Googles” via the agencies’ intranets.

Some of the US government branches which would be getting such help from Google include the following:

• United States Coast Guard
• National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration
• National Highway Traffic Safety Administration
• State of Alabama
• Washington, D.C.

Aside from these “mini-Googles”, Google would also be selling licenses for its Google Earth service so US government agencies would be able to plot out data that they have collected. The Google Earth application could also be used to track changes with the country’s coastline and would be a great help for ships navigating through the waters.
