Even with Davenport and Williams out, the United States managed to secure a spot in the Fed Cup semifinals thanks to Jamea Jackson.

Jackson improved to 2-0 in her Fed Cup debut when she beat Martina Mueller of Germany 7-6 (2), 6-2 to clinch the decisive singles that secured the Americans’ victory in the best-of-five series Sunday.

The Americans will now move on to face Belgium in the semifinals.
