USPS to Unveil Aviation Stamps at Oshkosh

The United States Postal Service (USPS) will unveil a new set of aviation stamps on July 29that Oshkosh. The stamps will feature ten classic American aircraft from the 30’s, 40’s, and 50’s. The stamps will be available at post offices nationwide starting on July 30th. (click on the image of the stamps for a larger view.)

The following aircraft were drawn by award-winning historical aviation and landscape artist William S. Phillips:

  • Boeing 247 and B-29 Superfortress
  • Consolidated PBY Catalina and B-24 Liberator
  • Lockheed P-80 Shooting Star
  • Grumman F6F Hellcat
  • Republic P-47 Thunderbolt
  • Northrop YB-49 Flying Wing
  • Engineering and Research Corporation Ercoupe 415
  • Beechcraft 35 Bonanza
