The 29th Annual Golden Raspberry Awards were this weekend. Some of you may have forgotten, as that other award show was also this weekend. But don’t worry, that’s what the Internets is for: to keep you informed.
And the winner is….
Uwe Boll! For… Worst Director (1968: Tunnel Rates, In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale, and Postal).
Uwe Boll! For… Worst Career Achievement (Germany’s Answer to Ed Wood).
But despite being awarded for being the worst of the worst, Mr. Boll retains his sense of humor.
When interviewed by Fangoria, the director said he’d be unable to pick up his esteemed awards because he was filming in South Africa:
Moreover, when asked who he thinks might deserve the Worst Career Achievement distinction over him, Deutschland’s leading B-movie maverick answers, “No one, only me,” before admitting that—despite what his detractors might hope—he intends to keep busy. “I do not plan to slow down until 2010,” he continues. “I prepare or edit a movie at the same time as I am filming a new one. Perhaps this sort of profile angers some people.”
Guess he’s hoping to pick up a few more Razzies.
