Vacation!! Your Accountability For Learning

Day 3 of my vacation was action packed and full. It is the wee hours of the morning and I am just sitting down with my laptop. Very unusual since most people think my purple laptop is attached to my hands. In any case, I am enjoying my vacation and I thought I would take a few minutes and fill you in on part 3 of my Vacation series. Vacation!! What is your Accountability For Learning? Should you invest in learning while you are on vacation or should your mind be on vacation too?

NOT! I absolutely don’t believe we should shut our minds off when we go on vacation. What a great time to learn. What a great time to read a book, or sharpen an area where you need to grow. Do you know you are accountable for taking your job to the next level? In order to do that, you get to learn new things, come up with fresh ideas, evaluate what’s not working and come up with new solutions.

I have been focused on getting an answer to some issues I deal with in my job. As I write this I realize that Ibreakthrough actually got an answer to an issue I have been pondering for well over a month. I have been looking for a solution, and I just couldn’t seem to come up with one, until tonight. BREAKTHROUGH!

What is BREAKTHROUGH? Breakthrough means penetrating a barrier with tremendous force and bursting through to new opportunities (my definition). Breakthrough is valuable if you are stuck on the job, in your personal life, in your career, and in your mind just to name a few. When you get a moment to go on vacation, I dare you to keep this word Breakthrough in mind. Without the pressures of your daily work schedule, meetings, and priorities, what a great time to let your mind, your vacation experiences, your quiet moments for musing, take you to another level in reviewing areas in your life that need Breakthrough.

I am at a conference over the next few days. My desire is to come back refreshed, full of love, full of creative energy, full of new answers and maybe even some new questions as I move toward the first day of school. I fully expect to Breakthrough to new levels of accomplishment over the next year. So I am investing in learning a few things I need to know while I relax at this conference. If you’re still reading this post, I hope it was a teachable moment for you. That you actually learned something. Scroll down and leave a comment.

How did you enjoy that mini vacation? I might talk about that tomorrow. How to take mini vacations when you are still working. We will see.
