van Koeverden Named Canada’s Flag-Bearer

Canadian kayaker Adam van Koeverden has been named his country’s flag bearer at the upcoming Beijing Olympic Games. He had the disctinction of carrying the flag during the closing ceremonies after he won the gold and bronze medals in flatwater kayaking. “I’m more than honoured and privileged. It fills me with so much pride to (carry the flag),” said van Koeverden. “I can’t wait.”
As a Canadian, I am proud to have him as our flag-bearer!
