Viacom Accuses Copyright Owner of Copyright Infringement!

Viacom has long been taking down content they don’t even own, but this time they really went nuts. After using someone’s YouTube video in their TV show, they turn around and accuse him of copyright infringement. Pot calling kettle…
Christopher Knight posted his campy campaign ad on YouTube, which Viacom rebroadcast on one of their crappy TV shows without his or YouTube’s permission. When Knight posted evidence of the unauthorized rebroadcast on YouTube, Viacom accused Knight of copyright infringement and had the video taken down.
The sheer circular absurdity of Viacom’s claim has me at a loss for words. How arrogant do you have to be to use someone else’s content and then accuse them of copyright infringement? Unbelievable!
Yes, it sounds too stupid too be true. No doubt this stupidity comes from Viacom’s insane rage at YouTube, but it’s stupidity nevertheless. If you still can’t believe it, you can download the clip Viacom took down here.
