Video Interviewing – Hirevue

HireVue is a premier provider of recorded video interview services and conducts interviews around the world every day.

What an interesting way to conduct an interview. Rather than the old, traditional way of two parties or more meeting together and discussing a potential job opportunity, companies are beginning to videotape candidates prior to meeting them.

Hirevue specializes in providing this service to companies. Ostensibly, it saves money and time. And maybe it does, but I like the synergy that you get by meeting people face to face and talking – interviewing.

I like the ingenuity of Hirevue. There is a demand for there service, and I am sure the demand will continue to increase. Given our ever increasing busyness.

Here are some highlights of their services:

1. Their interview services are available onsite at your company location. The candidate would interview at a computer enabled with software for the interview.

2. Their interview services are available offsite – specifically a candidate could do the interview in their home. Hirevue will provide the candidate with the webcam to complete the interview.

3. Hirevue provides services to college campuses and career centers.

Once the interviews are complete the hiring organization can designate who will review the interviews and make selections.

Using HireVue gives organizations an unprecedented level of:

    *Standardization of Interviews
    *Efficiency in interviewing potential employees
*Decrease in the amount of time required for interviews
*Ease of organizing committee style interviews
*Increase in the speed to hire new employees
*Ability to recall, review, and evaluate interviews

I think the Video Interview is an interesting option for organizations and hiring managers. I certainly support this process more than the Video Resume.
