June 10, 2008 by Jodie Lynn Boduch

A laurel *hands virtual flowers* and hearty handshake—get it, Laurel and Hardy? Yay for Blazing Saddles jokes!—to Ken Griffey Jr. of the Cincinnati Reds. It’s not every day a guy hits his 600th homer.

Griffey’s history-making moment (1m, 9s) as the sixth MLB player to reach 600 HRs came against the Florida Marlins, whose Miami stadium is (as usual) half-empty.
