Vin Scully to return in 2009

Good news, actually great news, for fans of the Los Angeles Dodgers, and all baseball fans. Long time play-by-play broadcaster Vin Scully told the Los Angeles Times that he will be back next season. Scully said he received the blessing of his wife, Sandy, in order to return for his 60th season behind the microphone for the Dodgers.
If you have never heard a game with Scully calling it, then you are missing out on the best voice ever to call a baseball game. Scully’s voice is almost soothing and I guess it would have to be for some of those seasons the Dodgers have had out in Chavez Ravine. But listening to Scully, it almost doesn’t matter what the score is.
Scully also made the movie “For Love of the Game” watchable, that is until Steve Lyons chimed in. But no matter what Jeff Kent thinks, Scully is alright in my book and I would listen to any game he was calling, even if it is with the Dodgers.

The Dodgers just beat Colorado 7 -2, but the best news of the night was the comment of the Rockies’ broadcast team that Vin would return next year.
Who could have a better day?
