Windows Vista shoudl require a minimum of 2GB RAM. Or yes it will be a slow beast. But I have foudn that with at least 2GB of RAM Vista is a great OS – smooth, quick, and reliable.

Windows Vista is the slowest system I have ever operated, Including DOS
I am sendiing back my new computer in the morning. I can get used to a new system, but it takes over a minute to close down a windows program,,,,,,sucks
