If you own a digital camera, you’ve most probably (make it a necessity) bought a couple of digital film cards to use when you go on trips. But you don’t actually use them all at the same time do you? So here’s a tip to make those extra cards work for you even when not using them on your camera. Presenting Windows Vista’s ReadyBoost, in allows you to use any high-performance CompactFlash or SD card with a USB 2.0 card reader to increase your PC’s performance via using it as cache memory. Nifty eh?

Simply plug the card and reader into your computer and choose Speed up my system when the AutoPlay dialog pops up. Vista will test your card and reader: If they’re fast enough, Vista will use your card as a disk cache until you need to pull it out to use it in your camera.
