If you’ve been on the market for a new German car you may have wondered, why diesel? Diesel is a popular fuel in Europe as gas supplies are not as plentiful. Diesel can also be made of recycles fuels making it an added green plus.
The truth though is that while diesel engines last longer, they are not as fast and are a little trick to repair. Diesel cars have also been blamed on highway pollution as they used to create a great deal of smog. Especially if the car is older, wear and tear could mean serious black smoke out the tail pipe.
Well not to be outdone, German engineers at Volkswagen have found a solution to the black smoke problem. They’ve perfected the diesel engine on their TDI models to run on diesel more cleanly.
This new “Clean Diesel” phenomenon is demonstrated in the test below, enjoy.
