Waiting on Vista? Speed-up XP Now

Have you gone out and bought Vista yet? No? What are you waiting for? You may be like plenty of other people that are happy with XP’s features so far and will just wait a bit before you take the Vista plunge.

Of course it could also be that your system just can’t handle the Vista OS yet and if you could speed up your XP system you’d be a happy camper for another few months at least, right?

If that’s the case, PCMag released an article on Valentine’s Day that you’ll just love: Speed Up Windows XP

My favorite bit of advice from the entire article is Killing the extraneous processes that Windows just churns on in the background. Sure they’re not much individuall, but add ‘em all together and get rid of them and you can see a little bit of a spike in your performance.

What XP tips are your favorites? We don’t have to keep it to just speeding up XP. It’s open game, what’s your best XP tip?

I have both Vista & XP & though I have never bought a Mac I tend to agree with the Mac adds about the new Vista OS. If it asks me to allow one more time I may just allow the PC to fall carelessly through an unopened window. I know I can turn this feature off but I thought I would try to work with it & work as safely & well protected as Vista claims & intends to be. No for my money I am sticking with XP & a good firewall.
Vista is like all new things, the first edition sucks.
