Gizmodo has posted a walkthrough of Windows 7 from boot-up, navigation, networking, taskbar, user access control, devices, etc.
Windows 7 looks very much like Windows Vista with better features. Why didn’t they just make it Windows Vista SP4 instead?

That would be free thats why. I can only assume that Microsoft plans on charging for Windows 7 upgrades even though it trulley is just a Vista fix, which in my opinion is not cool.
