Want lots of new myspace friends? Friendstorm might be your ticket…

Sorry to be concentrating so heavily on myspace.com this week, it just seems that I have had an abundance of news leading towards that site.

On myspace and other social networking sites one of the goals a company has to have when it comes to marketing their product is getting their page seen by as many people as possible.

There are multiple ways to do it. One of them is to use a website such as Friendstorm, which touts itself as, “the fastest way to make new friends on MySpace.”

How does friendstorm work?

You sign up for an account on the page. For every user you add as a friend you gain a point, for each point you accumulate your profile comes up for other people to add you. The more points you accumulate the more time your profile comes up for users to add you. Users can also generate points by referring people to the site, as well as purchasing blocks of time to be a featured profile.

What are the benefits?

You can generate a lot of friends by using this method, especially if you plunk down money for a months subscription. The people at Friendstorm were good enough to give me a month’s trial and I generated of 10,000 friends to a test profile. If you want to get as many eyes on your site and also present an image that you have a “cool” or “popular” profile this is an easy way to do it.

What are the drawbacks?

Some people are wise to using this to generate a lot of friends in a short period of time. So you will get some spam comments and messages in return when you starting accepting the tons of friends requests that will come in. Also these users aren’t particularly targeted, so you are going to miss more than hit with using this as a base.

Overall it really depends on what you are doing on myspace, if sheer numbers and exposure is your goal. (If you are a band or trying to create brand recognition for your product.) Then there is no doubt about it, this is a tool that can truly help you.

fuck the 500 limit, its fucking dumb

  3. dgfdgfdgfg says:

The 500 friend limit is imposed by myspace.
Friendstorm have no control of it.
Going over limit and exceeding the message quota frequently defies conduct policies that is enforced by myspace. Your account could temporarily be frozen or even deleted completely.
It is a completely understandable, safe and sensible rule!

it works and only three comments
