Do you want to ask more questions, better questions, questions that get good answers from your team?
Go download the free ebook Asking Questions for a Change, courtesy of Joanna Young.
Don’t think questions are important to managers? Here’s a pertinent quote that might change your mind.
“One who asks a question is a fool for five minutes; one who does not ask a question remains a fool forever.” – Chinese proverb

I live in a culture where we value smart questions. Nothing beats asking the right questions with the right people in the room.
Phil, I loved the headline so much I actually did something I thought only old people do: guffawed. Joanna’s ebook sounds fabulous. My biz partner and I actually have two policies along these lines…that we ask at least 2 “stupid” questions every day, and we always remain “curioser and curioser.”
Thanks for the mention of the e-book Phil.
Where’d we be without questions?
Great quote by the way, that’s a keeper.
I loved the headline. And the quote. If there is no such thing as a dumb question, why do people feel intimidated and avoid answering questions? Thanks for passing along the e-book, Phil.
The Chinese proverb is interesting since it is coming from an eastern culture where asking questions is considered an insult for the teacher or speaker. The need to ask a question is obvious evidence that the speaker did not make himself clear….
Asking questions is extremely important when managing a team. Also, it is much easier to ask someone then to sit and try to determine, what they’ve done, how they’ve done it, and why they done it. There’s no such a thing as a stupid question! Okay, truly sometimes there are stupid questions, but if you’re an intelligent individual and you think about your question before you ask it, then you should be okay.
