Asking questions is extremely important when managing a team. Also, it is much easier to ask someone then to sit and try to determine, what they've done, how they've done it, and why they done it. There's no such a thing as a stupid question! Okay, truly sometimes there are stupid questions, but if you're an intelligent individual and you think about your question before you ask it, then you should be okay.

The Chinese proverb is interesting since it is coming from an eastern culture where asking questions is considered an insult for the teacher or speaker. The need to ask a question is obvious evidence that the speaker did not make himself clear....

I loved the headline. And the quote. If there is no such thing as a dumb question, why do people feel intimidated and avoid answering questions? Thanks for passing along the e-book, Phil.

Thanks for the mention of the e-book Phil.

Where'd we be without questions?

Great quote by the way, that's a keeper.

Phil, I loved the headline so much I actually did something I thought only old people do: guffawed. Joanna's ebook sounds fabulous. My biz partner and I actually have two policies along these lines...that we ask at least 2 "stupid" questions every day, and we always remain "curioser and curioser."

I live in a culture where we value smart questions. Nothing beats asking the right questions with the right people in the room.
