Washington’s AG Offers Initial Response to Amazon/BookSurge Issue

654114_loud_noise.jpgAlthough PODdyMouth is optimistic about the initial response of the Attorney General’s office in Washington State about the Amazon/BookSurge issue, I’m not impressed – it sounds like the usual political cya, but I’m old enough to be a bit of a cynic.

    While it’s nice to see that the Washington AG is making some sort of inquiry, I’m not confident of any sort of speedy resolution in the BookSurge thing. I can easily see this thing blossoming into some sort of court case that goes on for the next several years before a judge finds in anyone’s favor. If Amazon’s execs don’t think that their plans for BookSurge are monopolistic — and I’m sure they don’t — they’ll dig in their heels.
