Watch the Resident Evil 5 producer interview

You’ve witnessed the new Resident Evil 5 trailer, but you’ll always have questions regarding the survival horror shooter. The next best thing is to watch this Jun Takeuchi interview about RE5’s new character and gameplay. Just who is Jun Takeuchi? If the titles Onimusha or Lost Planet mean anything to you, then you’ve seen the guy’s work. Takeuchi is RE5’s producer.

Apparently, the decision to set RE5 in Africa had a lot to do with a clue that came up in Code Veronica. The new elements are fascinating and all, but why do I get the feeling that the Resident Evil franchise can be likened to a cow that keeps getting milked?

I’m willing to bet that the overarching story would never really end, like Castlevania, Mega Man, or Zelda. The only difference between those games and Resident Evil is a somewhat more cohesive story. However, all those sequels are only going to convolute the overarching plot. Funnily enough, using the term “overarching” implies that there is an end to all this, but I still can’t see it from here.
