Webworker toolkit tips

Another good post today from WebWorkerDaily, the essential remote worker toolkit:

It doesn’t matter what industry you’re in, or what your title is. Stepping out of the cubicle and kicking off the uncomfortable work shoes for good requires more than self discipline to work solo. The nomadic or home-based office is not for everyone. Successful web workers have a treasure chest of tech and non-tech tips & tools that make our lives a little easier.

So the standards are there in the list, but I’m thinking there must be something to add there.  They are talking about essentials, of course.  But maybe it isn’t in the essentials but the details that make your nomadic worklife tick.  Maybe it’s the good travel mug, or the cache of batteries you keep handy.  I always keep a pocketknife handy.  Lorraine gave me a nice one in my stocking this year.  It’s just a single blade knife, but that doesn’t mean my trusty Swiss Army knife and Leatherman aren’t close by.  I have even been known to stash them in my bag when traveling to make sure I can make repairs on the road.

Or maybe the most essential part of being a web worker is the right attitude.  Now there’s something you can’t pick up at Best Buy!
