Wednesday Mid-Week Wrap-Up

11/2 – Ted Musgrave wins the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race in Texas. Mike Skinner takes the points lead from Ron Hornaday and opened up a 57 point gap from first to second place.

11/3 – Jack Sprague signed a deal with Kevin Harvick Inc. to drive the no. 2 Craftsman Truck in 2008.

11/3 – 2006 Busch Series Champion Kevin Harvick won the Busch Series race while Carl Edwards clinched the 2007 Championship.

 

11/4 – Jimmie Johnson won the Dickies 500 Nextel Cup race at Texas Motor Speedway. The win moved Johnson from second in points to first, boasting a 30 point lead over teammate Jeff Gordon.

 

11/5 – Repaving begins in Darlington.  The $10 million project includes new asphalt, concrete pit stalls, and a new infield access tunnel under Turn Three.

 

11/6 – Car owner Gene Haas was sentenced to twenty-four months in prison after pleading guilty to a multi-million dollar tax scheme.

 

11/7 – Chad Walter (crew chief of the no. 24 car driven by Casey Mears) and Tony Eury Sr. (crew chief of the no. 88 car driven by Brad Keselowski) were both fined $10,000 and placed on probation until December 31st for violating NASCAR rules involving the lug nuts at this past weekend’s Busch Series race at Texas.

 

11/7 – Petty Enterprises has announced they will be moving their operations headquarters to Mooresville, NC.

    It’s about time the spread some new cheese over Darlington. If it creates only one groove though, that place will turn into a much bigger Bristol. Bang Bang, I love it.

    Yeah, Darlington’s one of my favorite races to watch each season, but the track’s definitely been long-overdue for a makeover.
