Week Four $50 Giveaway!

September 16, 2008 by Allison Boyer

Like Fantasy Football? I do…but it is always such a hassle to sign up, draft players, etc. At this point, you might think it is too late…but it isn’t, if you play with Pay the Fan.

The Contest: BSC Frenzy’s friends at Pay the Fan are sponsoring a giveaway ESPECIALLY for BCS Frenzy readers! You don’t even have to sign up to win.

The Prize: Grand Prize is a $50 gift certificate to College Football Store $50 Visa Giftcard! (UPDATE: We’re doing a Visa giftcard instead, which you can use wherever Visa is accepted – still $50!) Six runners-up will also win Pay the Fan hats, mugs, and glasses. No strings attached!

How to enter: All you have to do is visit how to play page (here), which talks about how the competition works. Then, come back here to this post and leave a comment telling us one player you’d play this week and why.

For an additional entry, check out Terry Bradshaw’s blog at Pay the Fan and leave a comment here at BCS Frenzy telling us if you agree or disagree with his latest advice!

And, for one more entry, blog about this contest and leave your link here as a comment. Twittering about it counts too – leave your Twitter ID as a comment.

The Nitty Gritty Rules and Regs:

  • Entries are open until September 24, 2008 at Noon EST.
  • Winners will be chosen at random through random.org.
  • You don’t have to sign up for Pay the Fan to win, and doing so will not give you additional entries (but you should check it out – its a good time!).
  • You must use a valid email address when leaving a comment below – that’s how I’ll contact you. Your email address will never be made public or sold.
  • If you win, you’ll have five business days to reply with your information so we can give you your prize!

That’s it – start commenting!

The thing I like about Pay the Fan is that you don’t have to go through a long draft. You get to play ANY player you want, but the kicker is that you can only play each person (or defense) twice all season. There’s a weekly prize, as well as 20 prizes at the end of the season. Don’t worry – there’s still time to sign up. You can join to play the full season until 9/22, and after that you can join at a reduced price to play the weekly games.

  1. Steve says:

I’d go with Aaron Rodgers.. I think this will be another big week for him. Dallas’s secondary was picked apart by McNabb, and the game is sure to be another high scoring affair.

  2. Jessica says:

i don’t know much about football… but i’d prolly pick one of the Manning brothers. Because one of them was in the the superbowl and the other was close.

  3. Rachel says:

I would pick Eli Manning. He’s a good quarterback and it is a plus that he has played in the superbowl recently.

  4. LJ says:

If I could only use a qb twice in the season like at Pay the Fan, I’d save Rodgers since he’ll have a hard game this week and instead go with JT O’Sullivan. Granted, SF is far from the best, but look at who they’re playing – the Lions. I think he’ll be a solid pick this week and I probably won’t want to use him against stronger defenses.

  5. Kate says:

I am going with the crowd on this one. Eli Manning is where it’s at…or who it’s with.

  6. Dionne Obeso says:

I’ll go with Eli Manning, since he was in the superbowl recently, I think.

  7. Liza says:

I would have to agree with the fan who posted about Aaron Rodgers. The next couple of weeks should be big for him, so that is who I would play.

  8. Kris says:

    Eli Manning. Top dog!

  9. jennydecki says:

I heart Eli Manning! So…gotta go with him.

  10. becky says:

Well, seeing how I’m a Charger’s fan, I almost have to go with LT.

Although I think Farve has gotten a raw deal this season with all of the Packers BS, so he’d be a close 2nd.

  11. Jonesy says:

I’m going with a non-QB. Frank Gore, because yeah the Lions suck. Haha.

  12. Stephanie Hancock says:

Im going with Eli Manning as well – I think this player has ultimate talent that he will go far throughout the season.

  13. David says:

I’m a Dolphins fan and I would have picked Ronnie Brown before is explosive game against the Patriots yesterday. :)

  14. Jim says:

I’d have gone with J.T. O’Sullivan last weekend, even though it pains me to my core to see my Lions be THIS bad.

  15. PSUgirl says:

Robbie Gould – Chicago – it’s always good to have a reliable kicker!

  16. cathy b says:

i will go with the crowd on this one and choose Eli Manning… because i dont know much about this sport to be quit honest! i actually found pay the fan the other day, but it was a bit confusing for me so left the site after a bit. Though Ronnie Brown is a close second.
