Version 56 Of The Loom Software Server Code Is Out

I’m happy to report that a new improved version of the Loom Software code is out and operating now at https://loom.cc [Loom Gold] This new version offers a highly improved conformance to the HTTP “Keep-Alive” standard. It drastically improves the speed of repeated API calls, and also zaps along the loading of embedded images at a much faster pace. Here is what Patrick had to say about the upgrade:

“The purpose of this enhancement is not just to squeeze out a marginal efficiency gain. We will soon be completely separating all user interfaces from the core Loom engine. All user interfaces, including the folder interface, will run on a separate server altogether, connecting to the core Loom engine solely by means of remote API calls. Because the web interface often makes several repeated API calls in a row, the improved adherence to the “Keep-Alive” standard makes this level of separation fast and practical.”

“Note that the folder interface is has always used the API alone, but until now it has enjoyed the speed advantage of running on the same machine with the core Loom engine. When we completely separate the folder interface onto a different server, it may suffer a slight performance hit. However, because of the Keep-Alive feature, we expect the performance to remain adequately fast.”

Also, rumor has it that Graham over at GoldNow.st will soon be offering an ATM debit card linked to GoldNow Gold Grams which is a Loom Gold Asset Type.
