Weird and Wonderful Jobs

May 15, 2007 by Anne Wayman

I ran into a fascinating blog called Eccentric Employment. I’ve always been fascinated by the way people earn money, and Jade Walker has a great collection.

For example, how about Forest Fire Cartographers – I didn’t know people did that, yet I’ve seen the maps.

Or what about Grave Groomers?

You get the idea. So how does this apply to freelance writing?

  • Because I say so! ;)
  • Source of article ideas
  • Source of possible characters
  • An imagination sparker

Write well and often,

Thanks for the write-up. So glad to hear you enjoy Eccentric Employment.

How does my jobs blog relate to freelance writing? That’s easy! The site points writers to current employment ads that are sure to make great fodder for their future characters — and bring in money while waiting for checks from mags that “pay on publication.” *smile*
