There’s something to be said for winning in style–just ask Lee Westwood. The Brit scorched the competition at the Dubai World Championship this weekend, firing an 8-under 64 in the final round, a course record, en route to a six stroke victory. England also claimed the runner-up in Ross McGowan, who came in at 17-under.

Besides setting a course record, and cashing in the $1.25 million winners check, Westwood also came out on top in his duel with Ireland’s Rory McIlroy for the European Tour money title. Heading into the tourney, Westwood trailed McIlroy by about $190,000, needing to win in Dubai to grab the title. He did so, and pocketed another $1.5 million for winning the money title. Not a bad haul indeed.
Geoff Ogilvy and Padraig Harrington tied for fourth, finishing the event at 14-under.
