What’s in That Case, Just a Bunch of Hot Air?
I hope by now the two readers of my blog are starting to understand a little more about PC’s. If you are understanding PC’s that’s good, because that is what I want. I want you to Learn, learn, learn. Learning is good learning is great, but really this has nothing to do with the case on a PC.
Seriously though, the case is the most neglected part of your PC, but the most important. You will hear some people argue this, but I can tell you right now they are wrong. A good case design can determine the overall performance of your PC. A bad case will help your PC overheat and you will lose performance.
Here are some good pointers on what to look for in a good case
- Insure there is good ventilation, that there is enough space for components to breath
- Fans are good, but remember on the front they should pull in air, on the rear push air out
- Lots of space is also good for when you want to work on a PC
- You also want a good cover that makes your entire PC accessible with very little to know work
- Be picky about your Power Supply. You want it to last into the future for at least one major upgrade
- Make sure it has enough bays for all your media needs
- Last, but not least make sure it has front USB ports.
