What Are The Best Entrepreneurship Blogs?
I read many blogs about entrepreneurship and blogs by entrepreneurs on a regular basis. But I wonder what resources you turn to for entrepreneurial advice and inspiration?
Surprisingly enough, after a quick search, I didn’t find a lot of lists of “best entrepreneurship blogs.” About.com has a very good list of entrepreneurship blogs but I don’t know how up-to-date it is.
I’m not going to throw in my own thoughts on this right away. I want to see what you come up with.
Leave a comment here or send me an email and tell me which entrepreneurship blogs are the best and why.
Note: I’m only looking for blogs that focus on entrepreneurship. So if there’s a blog written by an entrepreneur but the focus is that person’s personal life or company progress it won’t count. The blog doesn’t have to be exclusively about entrepreneurship, but that should definitely be the focus.
My hope is to collect an extensive list, check them all out, comment on them and go from there. I don’t know if I’ll put it up for a vote after (I don’t want to focus on ranking as much as I do on why people think certain blogs are the best.) You can tell me if you want to vote!

I enjoy the blog of Mike Cannon-Brookes who last month won the 2006 Ernst and Young Australian Entrepreneur of the Year Award and goes onto the World Entreprenuer of the Year Awards.

Here’s my list of blogs I read regularly:

http://www.trizle.com/
http://www.startupnation.com/
http://blog.guykawasaki.com/
http://www.escapefromcubiclenation.com/get_a_life_blog/
http://www.business-opportunities.biz/
http://www.businesspundit.com/
http://www.smallbiztrends.com/
http://onstartups.com/
http://www.thefreestyleentrepreneur.com (shameless plug…)
Thanks guys. Good looking list — why do you like those blogs? What do they bring to the table above and beyond others?
And Jeff – don’t worry about the shameless plug, I’m all for it!
Personally, I connect with those sites because they make it feel like I’m sitting with them at a table in a bar (or a restaurant) just talking. Real people speaking in regular language about real issues pertinent to me. I’ve never met them but I feel like Guy, Pamela, John (from our site), and those crazy guys from Trizle (their blog is actually http://www.trizle.com/trizoko/) in particular write as though they are personally advising me; as though they really want others to succeed. Impressive people.
Jeff…
Well I follow a whole bevy of startup blogs, but there are a couple that really stand out for their ADVICE:
1. http://Onstartups.com/
2. http://mindpetals.com/
3. http://www.texasstartupblog.com/
They have great posts on a whole range of topics, so I recommend taking a look. They’ve helped me thus far – and I need all the help I can get!
I’ll be checking out everyone else’s comments…thanks in advance :D
It’s nice to see the guys at Trizle opened up comments. I remember being frustrated by that some time ago…guess I gotta go back and check it out some more!
Besides my own (wink), yours (one of my new faves, btw!) and the other ones listed above, I also read Diary of a Startup and dearly miss Jason’s MindfulEntrepreneur blog.
My hands-down favorite for quite awhile is bootstrapme.com by Shawn Hessinger. The reasons that immediately spring to mind are:
1) a lot of variety
2) each post short & sweet – even if a “to be continued” series
3) always useful and thought provoking
Hope this helps,
Denise
I can’t believe nobody has mentioned I Will Teach You To Be Rich by Ramit Sethi. It’s truly excellent.
OnStartups by Dharmesh Shah (as mentioned above) is also great.
The Entrepreneurial Mind is written by Belmont professor Jeff Cornwall, and is also very good.
And there’s always Ready Fire Aim written by me (shameless plug). I try to always write directly to the startup founder, and offer practical advice that I’ve learned through experience from one entrepreneur to another
I also like Guy Kawasaki’s blog (blog.guykawasaki.com)simply because the topics are really diverse. Everything from bootstrapping, business models, to venture capital is covered.

I like Successjolt. Great inspiration and links!
Does opening up a bed and breakfast and chronicling the journey count?? A shameless plug in the making:) Innside Innkeeping.
GP in Montana who’s a “she” not a “he” :)
Here is a link to my blog on bootstrapping a business: BootstrapStartup. Perhaps it could be added to the list.
Here is a link to my blog on becoming an entrepreneur from day 1. It includes my struggles, successes, inspirations, things that are relevant to the starting out entrepreneur: Offthebeaconpath.com. Take a look and feel free to give any feedback.
