What Are You Going To Do Since HD-DVD Is… Dead?

With HD-DVD essentially dead since Toshiba has announced that they are stopping production on their end, what will consumers do? Will they throw it out the window? Will the put a stick of dynamite and put the results on YouTube? Or maybe they’ll try to blend it (Read: NOT RECOMMENDED). Either way, they still have one way for it to be useful after HD-DVD movies stop coming out: using it as an Upconverting DVD player, and retailers have already jumped on that idea. I mean, heck, retailers need to get rid of the inventory, so why not sell them as the next best thing: an HD-Upconverting DVD Player that doubles as an HD-DVD player on the side. You’ve already got “HD” slapped on the packaging. Then again, I think stores should have a buy off and see who can come up with the most destructive method of getting rid of the players. I see a contest at your local Best Buy in the future…
