What Team USA Basketball Needs to Win

I’m no hardcore basketball fan, but I can’t help but wince with my boyfriend whenever we see old reruns of world basketball games. Specifically, when the men’s American basketball team loses.
We’re no jingoists, and it is our dream for the Philippine team to win basketball gold. It’s just that we can’t imagine why Team USA won’t get any genuine outside shooters.
It’s fundamentals: a basketball team that score inside and outside has a better chance of winning. Because, during times when not everything’s going your way, having another option to rely on is always a good thing.
Let’s hope Team USA won’t fall victim once again to politicking, which has many players accusing the coaching staff of already making up their minds. Which will rob American team of the outside shooters they’ve been sorely lacking in the last few years.
Then again, let’s hope that they lose! After all, it’s always good for the Philippine team to have one less powerhouse competitor. Hehehe.
