What to Make of Tommy “Durrrr” Dwan

After my last blogpost, I searched for more video of Tom Dwan.  I did indeed find a few clips (posted below).  He’s definitely brash although he’ll hide it to some degree.  Some may think he’s a punk, but whether he is or he isn’t, he’s for sure an online poker badass, an Internet superstar if you will.

Here is an awesome Tom Dwan Bio.  What my big question was was whether he started from scratch or had a nice parental bankroll, but according to PokerBloggs.com, he did indeed build the hard way as a college drop out from New Jersey.  His success is nothing short of amazing.  Especially since he’s not even 22!

As you might expect, this type of thing doesn’t just happen.  Literally millions aspire to become what he has ascended to but very few ever will.  He seems like an intelligent, hardcore gambler with little fear.  He places his confidence in his abilities and thus far it has landed him as a world reknown poker legend killer and millions of dollars.  Rumor has it, he may be in line for a FullTiltPoker sponsorship and because he just recently turned 21, he is now playing in live events.  Not that he needs all the extras and goodies, but that stuff is pretty damn cool.

If you’re interested in watching more of the poker wiz kid, see below:

[Notice how he habitually looks to the above-left in the above video]
[It actually sounds like Hellmuth is afraid to play Durrrr immediately after the match]

[I think Hellmuth won't let on how good he really thinks Dwan is. I think Hellmuth thinks he is one of the best he's played against.]

[Looks like he's got a date with the interviewer if he wants one.]
