What were your thoughts on the first Presidential Debate?
CBS and Neilsen conducted a poll (of sorts) monitoring the immediate reaction of viewers as they watched the debate between John McCain and Barack Obama last Friday.
Viewers were equipped with “dials” that recorded their opinions of the statements made by the two candidates – throughout the debate. The viewers could “rate” their reactions from 0 (very negative) to 100 (very positive).
Barack Obama’s statements about energy independence and health care gained the highest “positive” rating of the evening. John McCain’s highest rating was registered while he spoke about Iraq.
The lowest rating of the evening came during John McCain’s closing statements.
Did you have similar reactions? Would you want to participate in such a poll?
Of course, this isn’t a perfect study – and only 44 people were polled – but it is interesting feedback – much like our live blogging has been throughout the election.
And we’ll be live blogging the Vice Presidential Debate this Thursday – Senator Joe Biden and Governor Sarah Palin square off in St. Louis, Missouri at Washington University.
