When you’re thinking bench press , there different weights tell people what kind of strength you have. Whether it’s actually a good indicator or not is another issue. Below are the various markers on what level you are on and what those levels mean. Some influencing factors that can change impressions are arm length (longer arms make bench press much more difficult), body weight, chest size, and steroids.
600 lbs+ Beast level. 600 and anything beyond is absolutely amazing.- 500 lbs+ Powerhouse level. 500 lbs is a huge plateau and means you’re in an elite class of weight lifting.
- 400 lbs+ Big Time level. A lot of people reach 300, but 400 is seen as the first step into amazing.
- 350 lbs+ Heavy Weight level. 350 lbs is where you start turning the corner. You’ll elicit chatter among your surrounding weight lifting community.
- 300 lbs+ Initiation Level. 300 is the first real plateau. You’re not on the radar until you crack 300.
- 250 lbs+ Respectable Level. You’re not there yet, but a bench above 250 is respectable.
- 200 lbs+ Congratulations. You put in enough effort to finally top 200. You won’t stand out from the ground, but at least you’re in the crowd.
- 150 lbs+ You have some strength, but keep lifting.
- 100 lbs+ Get in the weight room.
No workout today for me, but I’ll be in the gym tomorrow.
