What’s A Wikki Stix?

Wikki Stix are made of a strand of acrylic, hand-knitting yarn enhanced with a microcrystalline, food-grade, non-toxic wax. There is no latex, nor any peanut or nut oil. The wax is similar to that used in lipsticks and on food products. It is a modern day pipe cleaner made out of yarn and wax. It is sticky andwikki-stix-owl fun to play with no matter how old you are. The sticky doesn’t lose it’s stickiness. You can make lots of things and then take them apart and start again.

Today is Fun Friday and I thought why not share a fun, inexpensive way for you to keep your fingers busy today as you ponder what you might do this weekend, or as you ponder your job search and what you need to do next. Or just take a moment and just have fun. No guilt, no pressures, no stress.

Wikki Stix have not been around very long. I actually first heard of them in January. I heard about a little girl who I know, likes to be busy doing lots of things. And she discovered Wikki Stix on a road trip and the little girl was hooked. All other toys and diversions when out the window when she had the Wikki Stix in her hand. Her grandmother recounted the story to me. Apparently, a restaurant in Florida gave them out.

I actually got my first Wikki Stix at a PF Chang’s restaurant here in Maryland. I was hooked and so was everyone else at the dinner table that night. We had three generations of women having dinner recently and they gave the children Wikki Stix. When I realized what they had, I knew I had to try them. So they gave some to all of the adult children (that would be me and my sister and my mother who is over 60). We all enjoyed playing with Wikki Stix.

What can you make with a Wikki Stix? Click here to visit their website>>>. You can make animals, glasses, baskets, pictures, just about anything you can imagine and shape with your hands, you can make with a Wikki Stix. I would love to hear from your if you have used Wikki Stix, or if you try Wikki Stix. Come back and share your story. Happy Friday!
