What’s Good for the Donkey…

is good for the elephant?

So it would seem.

We all, of course, remember the story ofDebra Bartoshevich, the Wisconsin Democratic Delegate who was stripped of her delegate duties after having announced (again, publicly, in the newspaper) that she would vote for John McCain in November if Hillary Clinton was not named as the Dem’s nominee.

Well, apparently, prominent GOP members need to be wary of whom they (publicly) support as well.

Delaware Online reports that Delaware Republican Committee Member, 2006 Senatorial Candidate and Temple Law Professor, Jan Ting was, somewhat quietly, “asked” to resign from the committee, following his having donated money (some $250) to Senator Barack Obama’s campaign, and attending an Obama rally in Wilmington, DE.

Ting states that he was asked to “swear allegiance” to John McCain – or leave the committee – and thus, when he refused to do so, he resigned as a committee member.

Professor Ting had served on the Delaware committee for 25 years. There are some (not so subtle) differences between the Jan Ting and Debra Bartoshevich “cases” – but it is interesting to see how the two parties are dealing with the situations.

Barack Obama and John McCain are not their respective party’s “typical” candidate – and this is resulting in some strong reactions/opinions from party members

-The conventions should be interesting!

Please use this one…correction to the first that was posted.

Hi to whom ever will read this:

I’d like to address Debra Bartoshevich and others like her, concerns, as it relates to the Democratic Party. For those of us who have been following politics for sometime now, should know by now, that each candidate regardless of his or her party always try to pull out all the stops against their opponents, either from the left or from the right.

The facts is, Obama beat Hillary, and regardless of how his victory submerged, the fact is, he won, and he is our candidate for the oval office for president of the United States of America representing the democratic party.

I am a loyal democrat, and I am seriously looking for change in the United States of America. I travel quite often, and I can honestly say this; Americans are being treated different compared to how we used to be treated by foreign nationals. I see the Republican with an attitude that I don’t like. And we look at the two candidates who recently taken trips to several countries, Obama was more received. We are living in a global economy and we need other countries as much as they need us, so, this is one thing that should be of great significance.

Now! To experience: This is what I don’t understand, if every person that leaves college need experience before they get a job, do you know what the unemployment rate would be, much less America’s position in the world? We would be the equivalent of most third world countries.

I am pretty sure that we all have to start from somewhere before we gain experience, don’t you? And didn’t you? I honestly believe that this is a silly talk that is floating all over America, mainly by the Republicans and some democrats alike, an example, Debra Bartoshevich. I heard what she said when Hannity asked her to give him a reason why she will not vote for Obama. And one of her answers was, “experience”; there goes that favorite word again.

When I first came out of college seeking a position as an Accountant, and if it had left up to experience, I’d still today be without a job at the age of 49. We are living in a country, which is the most diverse country in the world, and it is time that we set aside our hatred regardless of its foundation, and do as God asked us to do. Most of us or either Christians, Catholics…the bottom-line is, most of us believe in God. So, we can’t hold the bible in one hand trying to live a righteous life and hatred regardless of its simplicity in the other. Remember, God said that we can’t serve to masters; it’s either him or the devil.

I asked that you all search your hearts and be truthful to yourself, set aside any contempt or inequalities that you may have and start loving, and come out strong and vote for Barack Obama as the next president of the United States of America. I am confident that he’ll be there for us all, republicans, democrats and independent, most of all as Americans.

I honestly hope that I was able to shed some light here. I’ll keep you all in my prayers daily. God Bless.
