Where’s Worf? Sirtis Sneaks Into Mass Effect
Often times in movies we experience the brain-wracking glimpse of a face that we should know, but whose owner’s name escapes us. Games haven’t quite reached the point where digital renderings (particularly facial eccentricities) are able to elicit similar reactions, but what they do have is an astounding cast of voice actors ranging from the painfully obscure to the powerfully popular.
With Mass Effect in full marketing swing, you can’t help but catch the occasional clip here, or a short video there, and during these inevitable sojourns into virtual reality, a jarringly familiar voice . Naturally, I dug around for info on the voice talent used in the game; lo and behold, the voice actor for the Asari Matriarch Benezia is none other than Trekkies beloved Counsellor Deanna Troy: Marina Sirtis! I thought that sultry, slightly-accented tone sounded familiar…
