Which One Is The Right One For You?

With the recent update of both MacBook and MacBook Pro line of portables and the recent introduction of the MacBook Air, the question “which one is the right one for you?” begs to be asked.

Here are my thoughts on that…

MacBook – If you’re going to use a portable for your digital lifestyle and will only have one computer, this one is for you. The MacBook fits the needs of most users. It’s relatively affordable, has enough power for most needs and is small enough not to be difficult to bring around. With the entry level just $1099 this is great value for money.

MacBook Air – This is for people who travel a lot and have another computer at home. Preferably a desktop. This is the thinnest offering of Apple and the lightest. It’s really slim, well-built and a beauty. But this portable lacks an optical drive and might fall short on power and storage is this will be your only computer. But pair it up with an iMac and you’re set.

MacBook Pro – This is for pros on the go. If you do video, graphics, audio and need to be mobile, this baby’s for your. I’m using one myself. I’m not really a mobile person but I prefer a laptop against a desktop so I can work anywhere in my office or home. It packs enough punch that I’m able to work on all my design projects. However if I didn’t do design, I’d probably settle for the MacBook. The MacBook Pro line of portables are also the only line left in Apple’s stable to feature the matte screen.

So what do you think? Which category do you fall under?

None of the above…pros require a Mac Pro (I’m a musician and songwriter) and MacBooks just don’t cut it: hard drive too slow, storage limitations, screen too small. I guess I’m not a “typical” computer user!
