Over the next several weeks, Greener Assets will be exploring the green-ness of larger companies. Look for the the “Who’s Going Green” label on future posts to read about the green practice of corporations around the world. You can read about more companies here.
Dell is a great computer company – in my experiences, they’re quick to help with your problems, inexpensive, and easy to work with.
They’re also taking measures to go green. Dell Earth is a a program they’ve started to help themselves be more environmentally friendly. The basis of this program in energy efficiency, and they actually have a counter on their website that shows how much they’ve saved.
They’re also focused on using better materials and recycling, and their new Plant a Tree for Me option gives consumers a choice to donate a tree with their order. You have to pay for it – I’d like it more if they just, you know, did it. It’s nice to have that option, though.
Dell has specific products that are made with better materials and are more energy-efficiency. Again, this could be better – ALL of their products could be “green” (or at least greener), but at least they are giving us some choices. Check out their website for more information.
