Why AppleCare Rocks

I just got my replacment charger for my powerbook this morning. Oh did I mention it’s free… Courtesy of AppleCare. I really don’t regret getting AppleCare for my Powerbook. So far in the almost 3 years I’ve owned my Powerbook, AppleCare paid me back in spades. I’ve had my LCD replaced and the top casing of my Powerbook prior to the charger.
The LCD developed a white spot and right smack in the center. Since I do graphic design it really got on my nerves. After a trip to my local Apple service center, they filed the request for the LCD replacement. Apple approved it and there you go, new LCD. Same goes for the top casing. It developed black spots that turned out to be corrosion. Replaced too!
Now the charger. One day I noticed it wasn’t charing right anymore. It would charge then not charge then charge again. Then I noticed that the rubber thing where the wire meets the power brick melted. I brought it to my Apple service provider and after a week and a half, new charger ready for pick up. Cool!
Add up all of those and it more than makes up for the $349 pricetag that the AppleCare for Powerbook, Macbook Pros command.
AppleCare for Powerbook = $349 Peace of mind for 3 years = Priceless
