Why Coach Marinelli still has a job

NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.
Mostly Coach Rod Marinelli of the Lions still has a job, because Matt Millen does not have a job. The owner, William Clay Ford, can handle only so many firings at once.

But Marinelli said they did not talk about his future, despite Sunday’s 34-7 loss to Chicago and the Lions’ 0-4 start. He also said Ford did not ask or order him to play any particular player.

Asked if he got the feeling Ford still believes in him, Marinelli indicated he thought so.

But he said: “I never try to read nothing into anything. I just go in and explain where we’re at and what we’re trying to do.”

Oh come on…Why does he still have a job? He never wins road games and rarely wins home games. Marinelli stocked the team with ex-Bucs that are all has beens and don’t even play. He spends all his time with the Defensive line, because that is what he is, a defensive line coach, not a head coach.

Get rid of this guy now!

haha, the reason Marinelli is still the head coach is simple-

Nobody else on his staff is even remotely qualified to take over-

Sad as it is, he is way more knowledgable than the OC, DC and that crap shit Stan Kwan.

The Lions are so bad they can’t even get rid of their LAME DUCK coach.

    I feel your pain!

What about Colletto? He could coach in the nude. That would at least be amusing.
