Why do Bangladesh play cricket?
Now this one is like throwing the cat among the pigeons. Everybody has a view. I am one of everybody. So, I have a view. If you are a Bangladeshi and you are reading this, do not worry mate. I am just surprised. With players of the quality of Mohd. Ashraful and Abdur Razzak doing the rounds, things can only get better. But that was about an year ago. Or maybe two. I am not sure but what I am sure is that there is no drastic improvement in the win percentage. Talking about it to my friends (great cricket analysts as they claim to be), they seem to be of the view that we should give these guys some more time. “Look at where Sri Lanka was, and look where it is now.” I beg to differ, guys. The times, they are a changing. Those days, people loved to see their side thrashing minnows. These days, we love the slam bang stuff. We love the ‘lesser’ teams stand up and challenge the giants. There is a romantic in everyone who wants Kenya to beat the West Indies (oops, this was a bit obvious).
The bottom-line being, sometimes people do not realise the prematurity of a situation, and that’s when we get a 3-0 green-wash (Pakistan v Bangladesh ODI Series, April 2008), and lots and lots more similar happenings preceding it. What do you guys think about it?

i would though, be saddened if i have to write such a post about pakistan. Looking at the ICL Pakistan XI made me wonder, who is left???
but then, still they beat bangladesh….
ICL is a big loss to pakistan cricket…

Yes friends, I also think that Bangladesh should not play cricket, because only then it is possible for some teams to feel relief as they would not have to face any more shocking defeats. Be it in world cup or other tournaments.
