Why Do You Cheat, You Filthy Swine?

Happy Sunday. You can read the Bible, or you can read this feature I wrote about cheating in videogames.
Personally, I’d choose the Bible. More genocide and incest. I’m afraid my feature only contains trace amounts.
Cheating is a part of our culture. Not saying it should be celebrated or anything, but it has a long and winding history on consoles and the PC. The subheader for the feature indicates that it looks at the “Right, Wrong and Why” of video game cheating, but we’re looking more at the “why” than anything.
It’s totally cool to get philosophical, though. Does Bowser play fair? Should we play fair? That spiked ass of his can squash Mario in a second. Don’t get me started about the hammers and fire breath. What does Mario bring to the knife fight? High cholesterol.
…Ah, philosophy just isn’t a Sunday afternoon activity. I’m going to take a nap.

Never really thought into cheating this much but I do agree with you. Cheating has really become part of our culture. I’m glad it’s still treated as being a horrible thing, especially when it comes to professional sports.
Cheating may be a natural part of games, but beating a game without using cheats is far more satisfying.
Oh, absolutely! But I am impatient. ;)
Hey Michael! Sorry I had to fish your comments out of the spam filter. I hope that’s fixed now. :D
