Wii Sales Closing In On Xbox 360

Wii sales have been on the rise the past couple of months, putting Wii’s installed consumer base at about 2 million fewer than the Xbox 360’s. At the rate the Wii is going, it’s likely that the Nintendo console will close the gap and take the lead.
When the Holidays roll around, Nintendo is likely to see a huge spurt in their already formidable sales. Families will likely take advantage of the upcoming alliance between Mario and Sonic, making it a big must-have beneath the Christmas tree.
It will remain to be seen how games like Resident Evil 4 and No More Heroes do for Microsoft’s sales. The casual gaming market seems to be taking up the bulk of gaming sales this year. That’s not to say the hardcore gamer demographic won’t do its best to keep the Xbox 360 afloat during the upcoming months. I’m still pretty sure the Wii will come out on top.
